'Jawari....' update

I am thankful to well wishers like Dr. Hassan azad, Mr. Alan tootil, Mr. Martin spaink & others. On their suggestions, some gap in the description is filled by more specific words, few typos are also corrected. Few illustrative figures will also be added in future.

  1. Nice to see your views on Jawari of Tanpura.
I would like to add few things and say that the Tanpura is just like a resonator .But unlike a simple resonator which has a standing wave it is a leaky one as it radiates sound to the sound box located below the bridge. It couples energy to the lower sound box which is made up of gourd and hollow wooden frame. The sound radiation should be such that the frequency be as stable as possible along with a proper timber which is due to the harmonis present. If the bridge was extremely good reflector then the string would have vibrated upto a very long time and would have produced very less sound. The point which I want to make is that the string vibrations are decaying beacuse the vibrational energy is coupled to the sound o/p.The flat bridge will make a mechanism for coupling energy to the sound box and hence we get good sound o/p alog with good timber. Thats someting which one has to hear and decide which sound appears to be good but at a cost of more fast damping of the string. HAHA so there is a optimization needed for correctly tuning and adjusting the tanpura.
